APRIL 15 !! IT'S T DAY !!! (with video)

Steve Vaus |
Steve Vaus, whose patriotic anthem "We Must Take America Back" got him blacklisted by the recording industry 17 years ago, will sing the re-recorded song with updated lyrics at the San Antonio Tax Day tea party on April 15: T-Day.
But he'll be just one of the star attractions at more than 2,000 events scheduled as part of the Tax Day tea party events being held across America: Fox News hosts Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and others will appear at events, as will some of the top program hosts for the Talk Radio Network.
And Vaus will be just one of hundreds of thousands of people expected to gather to tell Washington that spending is out of control and the citizens, those who pay the taxes with which the political machinery in Washington is greased, aren't going to take it any more.
It was in 1992 when Vaus signed a recording contract with RCA. The resulting CD was called "We Must Take America Back," and the title track instantly struck a chord with Americans starved for entertainment that spoke to them, touched their hearts and reinforced their core values.
"We must take America back," Vaus sang. "Put an end to the gangs and the drugs in the street and the fact that the bad guys most always go free. That is wrong. We need leaders who lead us, not stick us and bleed us and take all our money and send it abroad. We must take America back. We need prayer in schools and more things made in USA. It's the least we can do for the red, white and blue. We must take America back."

The song began climbing the charts. Many radio stations found it was the most requested song on their playlists once listeners heard it. Based on radio airplay, the song zoomed onto the Billboard 100 CHART – with a bullet, as they say. That is a national chart based on radio play.
The official video of his updated version is available here:
Vaus' star seemed to be rising.
But, after a few complaints from some big-city radio stations about the conservative and patriotic nature of the song, the company decided, inexplicably and inconceivably, to pull the CD off the radio and out of stores – even with the song at number 56, still with a bullet, meaning it was moving up the charts faster than most other records.
"It took me a long time to get over having the rug pulled out from under me like that, but now, I think this song's time is finally here," said Vaus. "I can't believe it has been 17 years since I first recorded and released 'We Must Take America Back.' With updated lyrics, that speak to the issues on most Americans' minds across this great country, I believe it will be a rallying cry for everyone organizing tea parties, signing petitions and getting organized to preserve what's good about America. Thank goodness in this age of instant Internet downloads there's no record company or media consortium that can block it."
In the last several years, Vaus has enjoyed great success in the music industry, he just did it under another name. Recording as Buck Howdy he's had four best selling CDs of "family music," two of which brought Grammy nominations in 2007 and 2008. He toured extensively and appeared in concert with Billy Ray Cyrus, Kenny Loggins and many other superstars.
His first release, "We Must Take America Back" had an immeasurable cultural impact. It inspired WND Editor Joseph Farah's best-selling book, "Taking America Back." The book begins with a tribute to Vaus, with Farah saying he heard the song playing in his head as he wrote about what Americans can do in their everyday lives to restore freedom, justice and morality in the country.
"I still get chills when I hear the original timeless version of the song," said Farah. "But Vaus' reworked rendition speaks to the hearts and souls of Americans who are genuinely suffering today – suffering because their country, and everything good about it, is being taken away from them. This is truly a song for our times."
Since its release a few weeks ago, the new version of " We Must Take America Back" has been downloaded or previewed on Vaus' website more than 100,000 times – and now as many as 15,000 tea partiers in San Antonio, Texas, will hear Vaus perform it live at the Alamo as the grand finale of the event.
"The Tax Day tea parties speak to what I've been singing about for 17 years," Vaus told WND as he boarded his flight to Texas. "Being at the Alamo is a perfect example of 'If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.' We all have Alamos in our lives where things haven't gone right in the first battle, but we go back. And when it's something as important as freedom, you keep trying."
The San Antonio tea party is expected to be one of the largest Tax Day protest events in the country. It has gained national attention from television talk show host Glenn Beck, who will air his show at the Alamo at 4 p.m. The party runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Officials with the Talk Radio Network say show hosts Erich "Mancow" Muller, Rusty Humphries, Tammy Bruce and Robert Scott Bell all will be at events.
Muller will be in Chicago to talk about how hiking spending means more taxes, and that "can limit the freedom and threaten the livelihood of nearly every America."
"A Tea Party in 2009? Yes! Because not everyone deserves what you've worked so hard for. If you are sick of everyone being a big spender with your money you need to be at a Tea Party on April 15th," said Muller. "These Tea Parties are a way for all of us 'Common Folk' to give Big Brother a black eye and are a big middle finger salute from an overtaxed populace to the crooks in charge."
Humphries, who will be in Modesto, Calif., said, "This is not about Democrats or Republicans. This is about reducing the size and scope of government. Obama's spending too much money; Bush did too. People from across the country are saying enough is enough and I’m proud to be a part of it."
"We're saying no to more taxes and demanding real economic reform," said Bruce. "We categorically reject sending our children and grandchildren into indentured servitude to a government that has grown drunk on taxing and spending.
"The Tea Parties are a national protest where Americans declare we're fed up and not going to take it anymore," she said.
"Why participate in a Tax Day Tea Party? Government schools teach that slavery ended with the 14th Amendment. What would you call enslaving our children and their children to a debt that can never be repaid in 2009? King George III has got nothing on this government," said Bell, who will be in Florida.
Fox celebrities Greta Van Susteran, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and Neil Cavuto all will broadcast from events across the nation.
Even mainstream media outlets were beginning to take note, with headlines about the events in the Seattle Times, Houston Chronicle and on Agence France-Presse.
But even without the celebrities and without the headlines, the message remains. The event is Sioux Falls, S.D., on the plains of middle America, may or may not be typical. It has scheduled a live re-enactment of the Boston Tea Party.
Organizer Dr. Alan Unruh told WND a ship has been set up on the city's Terrace Park Covell Lake and "men dreessed like the colonists will be throwing 10 crates with banners on each of them representing the spending of the government in the last two months."
Actors also will portray Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan and Uncle Sam.
"All these past leaders will be talking about the economic principles of capitalism and what our nation was founded on," he said. "We have featured celebrity Daisy – the Pot Belly Pig wearing a banner that says 'No More Pork!'
"Free hot dogs (all beef, no pork)," he said.
The message, like those from other events, will be straightforward.
"This country wasn't formed by the FUNDING Fathers," he said. "We will never give up. All Americans are in the same boat and there's one principle about a boat. You can't sink half of it. We all either live in freedom or servitude. Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty."
WND has been hosting its own tea party forum so citizens can exchange ideas, information and announcements about the "revolution." After reviewing various website protest listings from Tax Day Tea Party, Facebook and e-mails from many readers, WND found more than 700 tea parties scheduled for Tax Day and upcoming months including the following:
